Summary

Here is a summary of the video:

Main Topic The video, presented by Grace Leung and sponsored by Anthropic, focuses on how to build and optimize AI agents using Claude Code. The speaker demonstrates a step-by-step process for creating a content creator agent without any coding or terminal experience.

Key Points Discussed

  • What Makes an Agent: An AI agent makes decisions based on a goal, determining what to do first, which tools to use, and whether the results are good enough. Every agent needs five key parts: a brain (AI model), context (brand information), job (the goal), rules (guidelines), and tools.
  • Level 0 - Setting up the Workspace: The process starts by creating a workspace folder (e.g., “Business OS”) containing brand assets and example posts. In Claude Code, the user selects local mode, points to the folder, and sets permissions and model preferences (Opus 5.5). Onboarding involves asking Claude to read the brand context and guide files.
  • Level 1 - Building the Agent: Using a ready-made prompt called the “Agent Designer,” the user can define the agent’s job—such as converting long-form content into carousel posts. Claude then creates the agent file (content-creator.md) with all necessary instructions and tools.
  • Level 2 - Making it Reliable: To ensure consistent output, the user creates an agent skill (a playbook) by having Claude interview them about previous posts. This skill defines rules for hooks, layouts, and motion, which are then integrated into the agent.
  • Level 3 - Making it Self-Improving: By giving the agent a memory file (content-memory.md) placed next to the CLAUDE.md file, the agent can learn from direct feedback on future posts without repeating mistakes.
  • Level 4 - Taking it to the Cloud: To allow the agent to run automatically when the computer is closed, the workspace is synced to a private GitHub repository, connected to Notion for content management, and scheduled to run routine tasks in the cloud.

Conclusions and Takeaways

  • Incremental Approach: Building an effective AI agent does not require doing everything at once. Users should progress step-by-step through the four levels: Workspace, Agent, Skill, and Memory/Cloud.
  • Context and Playbooks: Providing detailed brand context and clear skill playbooks ensures that the AI generates content matching the user’s specific brand style rather than generic AI output.
  • Autonomy: By utilizing cloud synchronization with tools like GitHub and Notion, users can achieve a fully automated workflow where content is generated and organized autonomously.

//AGENT DESIGNER Help me build ONE AI agent for this Brand folder. Plain words, no jargon.

  1. LOOK FIRST Read CLAUDE.md and everything it points to. Never ask what you can find there. No CLAUDE.md yet? Stop and tell me to set one up first.

  2. ONE CLEAR JOB SCOPE If I describe more than one job, suggest which to start with and build only that one.

  3. ASK ME (max 3 questions, one at a time, each with 2 to 3 suggested answers) Only what you can’t work out yourself:

  • Judgment calls: what should it decide on its own, based on what?
  • Done: what does a great result look like, as a yes/no checklist? If my answer is vague, show me a vague vs specific example.
  • Stop and ask: when should it check with me instead of guessing?
  1. SHOW ME THE PLAN One screen: suggest 2 to 3 short names for the agent (I pick one), then 5 parts: Context, Brain, Job, Rules, Tools (does on its own / asks first / never). Wait for my OK.

  2. BUILD IT Save it as a Claude Code subagent with the name I picked, under 50 lines, plain English.

  • Description: use the words I’d actually say when asking for this job, so you hand it over without me naming the agent.
  • Give it only the tools it needs, including what it needs to look at and check its own work.
  • Brand-agnostic: no brand details and no brand file names in the agent. It reads CLAUDE.md and what it points to. Turn any brand details from my answers into checks against the brand files. If the brand files are missing, it asks me.
  1. WRAP UP 2 lines: what you built and what to ask it first. Remind me to start a new session so you pick up the new agent.
