Canonical Names

Canonical Names is a standardized identification system within profile management infrastructure that establishes a single authoritative identifier for each entity. By assigning a canonical name to every profile, the system maintains consistent entity recognition across operations, even when the same entity is referenced through multiple name variations, aliases, or alternate spellings. This approach eliminates duplicate records and ensures that all references to a given entity resolve to one primary record.

System Integration

The Canonical Names system functions as a core component of profile matching and deduplication processes. When new profiles are created or imported, the system compares incoming data against existing canonical names to identify potential matches. Matched profiles are then linked to their corresponding canonical records, while unmatched entries may be flagged for manual review or added as new canonical entries depending on system configuration.

Profile Status Indicators

Profile cards now display automated intelligence status indicators that reflect the matching state of canonical names within the system. These indicators provide visibility into which profiles have matched intel and which remain unmatched. A new filter tab has been added to the interface, allowing users to view and manage profiles with no matched intel, streamlining the process of identifying records requiring additional review or verification.
