Dark matter detection

Primary detection methods include direct (searching for rare particle interactions in underground detectors), indirect (observing annihilation products from astrophysical sources), and collider-based approaches. Current experiments focus on wimp particles.

Recent developments:

• Katie Mack (Perimeter Institute) collaborates on the SABER detector at Stawell gold mine, Victoria, to complement an Italian detector in the search for wimp particles.
• Perimeter Institute enables collaborative research with annual funding for up to two invited collaborators per researcher.
