Discussion Tab
The Discussion Tab is a collaborative feature within Microsoft 365 Copilot that enables users to have threaded conversations and share feedback directly on documents and insights. Announced in April 2026 through the Microsoft 365 Copilot Connection channel, the feature was demonstrated by Nick Harris, a Senior Copilot Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, as part of a platform update rollout.
Functionality
The Discussion Tab allows teams to maintain contextual conversations without leaving their documents or analysis tools. Users can thread comments and feedback directly to specific content, creating an organized record of discussions and decision-making processes. This integration reduces the need to switch between applications and email threads, keeping collaborative input centralized within the platform.
Deployment
The feature rolled out as part of broader updates to Microsoft 365 Copilot’s collaborative capabilities, reflecting the platform’s evolution toward integrated teamwork functionality. The announcement and demonstration positioned the Discussion Tab as part of Microsoft’s strategy to enhance communication and feedback mechanisms within its enterprise productivity suite.
