Discussion Tab
The Discussion Tab is a feature within Microsoft 365 Copilot that enables collaborative conversation and feedback on documents and insights. It was demonstrated by Nick Harris, a Senior Copilot Cloud Solution Architect at Microsoft, as part of an active rollout of platform updates in April 2026. The feature was announced through the Microsoft 365 Copilot Connection channel.
Functionality
The Discussion Tab allows users to engage in threaded conversations directly within Copilot, facilitating team collaboration on generated content and analysis. Rather than requiring external communication tools, users can provide feedback and discuss insights in a dedicated space tied to the relevant documents or Copilot outputs. This integration streamlines the process of iterating on AI-generated results and incorporating multiple perspectives into decision-making workflows.
Rollout and Context
The Discussion Tab was part of a broader series of updates to Microsoft 365 Copilot during early 2026, reflecting the platform’s evolution toward more collaborative and feedback-driven experiences. By embedding discussion capabilities directly into the Copilot interface, Microsoft aimed to reduce friction in team-based knowledge work and deepen integration between AI assistance and organizational communication practices.
