Remove Tool

The Remove Tool is a content-aware removal feature in Adobe Photoshop, introduced in the July 2025 update. It is available in both the standard release and Photoshop Beta versions of the application. The tool was positioned as one of five major features in that release cycle.

Functionality

The Remove Tool analyzes the surrounding pixels of unwanted image elements to intelligently remove them while maintaining visual coherence in the affected areas. Users can select objects, blemishes, or other undesired elements in an image, and the tool processes the selection by examining neighboring pixel data to fill the removed area seamlessly. This approach reduces the manual work traditionally required for content removal tasks in image editing.

Availability

The tool is integrated into both the current production version of Photoshop and its Beta release channel, making it accessible to both standard users and those participating in Adobe’s beta testing program.
