Ticker Bar Navigation

Ticker Bar Navigation is a visual editing interface requirement for the journeys platform that enables users to create and edit travel blogs through a sequential block-based system. The concept addresses the need for an accessible content creation tool that combines text and photographic elements in a structured, modular format. This approach allows non-technical content creators to build and manage blog posts without requiring direct HTML editing or technical knowledge.

Current Implementation Context

Travel blogs on the journeys platform are currently stored as static HTML files in the content/{slug}.html directory structure. This storage method presents limitations for editing and updating content, as modifications require direct file manipulation rather than a user-friendly interface. Ticker Bar Navigation proposes to bridge this gap by providing an integrated visual editing environment.

Design Approach

The system is modeled after existing consumer design platforms such as Adobe Express, which have established effective patterns for block-based content creation. By using sequential blocks of text and photos as the fundamental building unit, Ticker Bar Navigation creates a predictable and intuitive editing experience. The ticker bar itself would serve as the primary navigation mechanism for managing these content blocks within a single blog post or journey.
