Tint Slider
The Tint Slider is a control within Photoshop 2025’s Color and Vibrance adjustment tool that modifies the color temperature and hue balance of an image. Located within the adjustment panel, it enables users to shift colors along the warm-to-cool spectrum, providing fine-grained control over the overall color cast of a photograph. This slider complements other color grading tools by offering a dedicated mechanism for temperature adjustment separate from saturation and vibrance controls.
Function and Operation
When applied to an image, the Tint Slider moves in two directions: moving the slider toward warmer tones introduces reds and yellows, while moving it toward cooler tones introduces blues and magentas. The adjustment affects the entire image uniformly unless applied to a masked layer. Users can preview changes in real-time as they drag the slider, allowing for immediate visual feedback. The intensity of the effect depends on how far the slider is moved from its neutral center position.
Integration with Color Grading Workflow
The Tint Slider functions as part of Photoshop 2025’s modernized color adjustment workflow, working alongside the Vibrance and Color controls. It is particularly useful for correcting unwanted color casts introduced by different lighting conditions or for intentionally warming or cooling an image for stylistic purposes. Because it operates as a non-destructive adjustment layer, changes can be modified or removed at any point during the editing process.
