Republic Of Turkey
The Republic of Turkey is a transcontinental country straddling Europe and Asia, with its capital in Ankara. It covers approximately 783,562 square kilometers and is bordered by eight countries: Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, and Syria. The country is surrounded by the Black Sea to the north, the Aegean Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Turkey has a population of over 85 million people and serves as a significant bridge between Eastern and Western cultures, having been at the crossroads of major civilizations throughout history.
As a member of NATO since 1952 and a candidate for European Union membership, Turkey maintains extensive diplomatic, economic, and military relationships with nations across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. The country is a major regional power with influence in trade, energy, and geopolitical affairs. Its strategic location provides control over key maritime passages, including the Turkish Straits, which connect the Black Sea to the Mediterranean.
Visa Requirements
Turkey offers visa services to foreign nationals through both traditional and electronic means. The e-Visa (electronic visa) system allows citizens of many countries to apply for and receive travel authorization online prior to arrival. Specific visa requirements vary depending on the applicant’s nationality, intended length of stay, and purpose of visit. Visitors should consult official Turkish government resources to determine their eligibility and required documentation before traveling.
