RHIC

Overview

The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) is a high-energy particle accelerator located at Brookhaven National Laboratory designed to study the fundamental properties of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and the behavior of matter under extreme conditions.

Core Research

  • Generation and characterization of Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP).
  • Probing the Strong Nuclear Force through heavy-ion collisions.
  • Investigation of quantum-field-theory (QFT) phenomena, including:
    • Experimental confirmation of the physical reality of virtual-particles 2026 04 24 Experimental Confirmation of Virtual Particle Reality.
    • Analysis of particles appearing and disappearing within vacuum/empty space.
