Victor Hess
Victor Franz Hess was an Austrian physicist who discovered that cosmic rays originate from outside of Earth’s atmosphere in 1912. His work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1936.
Key Contributions
- Discovery of cosmic radiation, also known as cosmic rays.
- Proved that these high-energy particles emanate from space and not atmospheric interactions.
