Whitcomb Judson

Whitcomb Judson was an American inventor best known for inventing a type of fastening device that would eventually become the modern zipper. The early version of this invention was called “Clasp Locker,” which was presented at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Despite not being the commercial success it could have been, Judson’s innovative design laid the groundwork for future developments.
